WWII USAAF Grouping to Pilot Tom Crooke. He Flew Bombers with the 8th Air Force. All of these items were purchased at his estate sale by a picker of a friend of mine. I was able to contact Mr. Crookes widow about 13+ years ago and talked with her on the phone. She was very nice, but could not remember which squadron her husband flew with. She was going to try and locate some other items for me, but was never able to. She mailed me a Christmas card at the time and this will be included with the items. Tom Crooke lived in Dekalb IL. I have had these items for about 13 -15 years. Based on the ribbon bar that Tom Crooke won at least Two Distinguished Flying Crosses and Four Air Medals. He must have been one heck of a Bomber Pilot. The grouping includes his DFC and Air Medal (not named). The Air Medal has the early Wrap Broach and the DFC is a slot Broach. Both of these medals are the ones awarded to Tom Crooke and not replacements. The two wings are English or Britsh Made all embroidered on blue background signfying combat crew. Two of the patches are the early British made Stubby Wing 8th Airforce type. The other one is the US type. I have not tried to research this group over the past 15 years. I should have, but whenever I was going to, something else would come up. I may try and contact the 8th Air Force Museum in Savannah Georgia and see if they have any information on Tom Crooke. This is a nice grouping that has not been added to or broken up. All items were Tom Crookes. Please email with any questions. $525.00

WWIIUSM-2- WWII / Korean War Military Medal grouping. This group of medals was picked up by my wifes uncle at an estate sale in North Carolina. The grouping includes a US Bronze Star, a Korean Order of Military Merit, 2nd Class, 1st Type, Eulji class numbered 468, a US Army Commendation Medal(named), American Defense, American Campaign, ETO with 5 Battle Stars, Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Korean Service Medal, American Defense Medal, WWII Occupation medal with Germany bar, and Army Reserve medal. There is also a very nice ribbn bar set. The grouping is as complete as you can get for a medal grouping. All of the medals include their respective boxes except the Korean Medal. The Korean Medal of Military Merit 2nd Class is a fairly scarce medal and this one has a low number on it. It appers to be the early type from the very early 50's. This Officer served in WWII and in Korea. He must have served in WWII with an Artillery Regiment. There is a pair of early screwback collar insignia for the 182nd Field Artillery Regiment or Battalion. I assume that is what the DI's are for. Also included is a pair of Major and Lt. Colonel insignia. This is a very nice grouping and worthy or further research. $1300.00
